"Success Can Come From Any Circumstance." - Rudii Smith
Our Story
"Rudii's Image" is a tribute to my now 17-year-old son, Brennon "Rudii" Smith, who is the youngest of my two children. His journey began with my immense challenges; after his birth, doctors warned about the odds against my survival rate and was completely ready to give up on life. Yet, after enduring five surgeries and spending two weeks in intensive care, Rudii's life emerged as one destined for greatness. And that, I must be around to see it.
Rudii is exceptionally intelligent, excelling both academically and intellectually. His natural ability to bring laughter and joy reflects his wonderful personality. He embodies love, compassion, athleticism, and a sociable nature, all while being spiritually grounded in his faith. He builds connections with good people and can stand on his own when needed. Every day, I see God's light in him, and I've observed the positive influence he has on his peers and the lasting impression he leaves on adults, especially us as his parents.
He possesses a free spirit, openly expressing his feelings and engaging in discussions about anything. If he unintentionally hurts someone, he is quick to apologize. Rudii's Image is one that embodies the ideals any parent would desire for their child to emulate. While I wouldn't claim my son to be perfect, he is a well-rounded individual with a genuinely loving spirit. Although Rudii does not have a relationship with his biological father—due to not recalling meeting him—he has consciously chosen a life that opposes negativity.
My own childhood significantly influenced my decision to establish this organization. Raised by a single father due to my mother’s neglect, experiencing childhood sexual abuse, and facing physical abuse as an adult presented many challenges. Yet, I have refused to let those difficult moments dictate my success today. I’ve focused on making positive changes and choices in my life.
Through my experiences, I want young people, regardless of gender, to understand that circumstances can change. I aim to provide support and reassurance that difficult moments do not define one's character. While I do not believe my organization can help everyone, I want children to realize that with the right support systems, there is so much more beyond their immediate environment.
Our Mission
Success Has No Color. Achieving success transcends race, intelligence, athleticism, or physical appearance. It is defined as the attainment of a goal or objective. Rudii's Image encourages young people to pursue their ambitions with determination, reminding them that there are no boundaries to how success can manifest.
Our Vision
My vision is to establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging and educating youth, regardless of their demographics or background. This organization will provide young people with perspectives they may not have encountered before, introducing them to accessible role models and inspiring places beyond their usual surroundings. I aspire for youth to feel comfortable expressing themselves openly and honestly, recognizing the value of surrounding themselves with positive influences. Through youth conferences, local and out-of-town trips, outreach programs, and mental health seminars with open discussions, we will foster this environment. Moreover, I want to help young people understand that challenging moments, such as difficult living conditions or circumstances, do not define their potential for success. Ultimately, life is about the choices we make.
